AX 2009

AX 2009 has been around for a long time now. Still there is a severe crunch when it comes to how-to documents. Not many instructions and details exist on even the most regular of tasks that can be carried out on the system.

Instead of lamenting out, I decided to make a record of the issues that I come across on this particular version of Dynamics Axapta.

Although the underlying process for the tasks has remained similar throughout the versions, the user options have changed, along with a the addition of details along the way. So, nevertheless, I decided to start keeping a record... and not just keep it to myself, but share it with a whole bunch of people out there who are in a situation not very different from mine.

Few things:

- AX 2009 has a lot lesser tables than its 2012 counterparts.

- AX 2012 works with shared tables, whereas in AX2009, legal entities were differentiated - in the sense the data of one legal entity was independent of the other.

- AX2009 is consolidated when it comes to the modules, whereas AX2012 is extensive and packs in many extra features and additions. These are rooted in the subsequent requests raised by clients and service providers all over the world.

Good Luck and Happy Daxing :)
